"Christian" Disobedience?

I woke up this morning, only to read a headline that stated: Muslim flight attendant suspended for not serving alcohol! I was immediately taken back to my message Sunday where I spoke some of the things that I'm putting in this blog. Please open up your mind and heart to receive this. It may disagree with your passion and ferver as a believer, but we need to strategize in this last hour in order to effectually portray Christ with consistency and without personal agendas.

The situation in Kentucky is about to spurn these types of incidents. Although Kim Davis is a hero to believers, she was wrong for not obeying the rules of her job description according to the laws that govern the state. Once people start doing this, it will lead to the immoral civil rights movement! People will begin to use their own moral interpretation of what is appropriate in the workplace, instead of abiding by the laws that govern their jobs.

We should stand up for what is right, but not by changing the rules of our jobs and disrespecting the job description because it suddenly conflicts with our beliefs. In those situations we should resign from our positions and seek God for guidance. When we have the option to either obey the job description or quit, we should quit. But when it's a case of not being allowed to "freely" express our Christian faith in private or within our freedom of speech rights, then that's when we must stand firm and face the penalty of whatever the government institutes. (Daniel, 3 Hebrew Boys) We cannot take a Christian stand on the devil's dime! That is using the kingdom of the enemy against itself and that goes against what Jesus taught about a house divided. The bible is clear that in the last days we will not be able to buy or sell without accepting antichrist. This is exactly what is happening here. Because of our beliefs we will be shut out of certain money making opportunities. And no matter how much we hate losing the job, if the employer takes a stand for the kingdom of darkness then when we attempt to use his money for our own resolve then we are disobeying scripture. 1Pet. 2:18

Remember, Daniel did his job in Babylon and because he did it with excellence, they had nothing on him, but rather made up a law banning prayer, in his private time, to get him executed! Same with the 3 Hebrew boys. These men faced death because they refused to honor false gods while in bondage! How do we expect any employer to continue to pay us when we are not obeying the rules of the job description? Though my heart goes out to Kim, I would have advised her to quit the job quietly and take things up with our true provider, Father God! He can always make a way out of no way. This could have prompted others that saw her stand to inquire about her relationship with God. But by being disobedient to the job description, she has opened the door for other things that will make this situation spiral out of control.  Instead of expecting something for not doing her job properly, she could have moved on and kept the media attention off this situation. The worst part of this is what the media is gonna do concerning it. Just keep watching!

In our country, we have freedom to be Christian, but we do not have the freedom to disobey a job description and expect to be paid and/or keep our job. And when it comes to government jobs, the penalty for non compliance is usually jail or fines! I knew that situation would lead to this muslim situation and this will lead to more people interpreting their own job descriptions which will ultimately lead to mutany and marshall law!

People, don't use your faith as an opportunity to get media attention. When they infringe on our Faith in the work place and attempt to make us compromise our beliefs, we only have one course of action. Humble Resignation! This way, we will not have to "obey those masters" that are over us because they are no longer paying us!

Until He Returns,
G. Craige Lewis

1Pet. 2:18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

1Pet. 2:19 For this is thank worthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

1Pet. 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

Rev. 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

Rev. 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Wow! I had been following the Kim Davis case and had not looked at it from that perspective. I was looking at Kim as being like a modern day Paul standing up for what she believed in, even to the point of being prosecuted for her beliefs as many disciples had been.

After your breakdown it makes sense. I was actually reading something today in the Word today and I seen something about following the laws of the land, I briefly thought about Kim Davis situation and wonder should she just had done as the new law has required instead of resisting, but as quickly as the thought came, it left. After reading your synopsis on it, I will admit it is kind of hard to wrap my mind around her response to any other way than what she did, but I guess as she acted in faith to stand her ground, she could had taken that same faith and used it to resign and trust God that he would provide.

But then there's that part of me that feels like is silence really the solution. I feel like that one of the reasons same-sex crept up on us and became legal was because in general the church has been silent on the matter and the ones who say they are the church (fake representatives) has either condoned it.

So are you saying that to fight, is to lay down? I mean it registers with me about being humble, but then it leaves me with questions like, when are we to take a stance (is it just when our private worship is threaten or other times as well) and how do we go about doing so?

Well said, and Amen. Christ was obedient to the end, we should try and do the same.He was never arrested for breaking any civil laws. The Jews were expecting Him to break down the Roman's rule, instead He broke them down. Keep Preaching!(Pastor Lewis, the True-Church Podcast for 9-6-15 spoke to me. I comment a lot with arrogance, and anger. Will try to reel it in.)

My first thought was how can we help her? How can I give to help with attorney expenses? This week when I looked at the article about her arrest I thought to myself why didn't she just quit. Then I thought maybe this whole thing was just a set up to lead us astray. I believe she agreed to not interfer with the court's decision to allow gays to marry. I was glad to hear your sermon Pastor Craige it confirmed my suspicions that this is to make a mockery of Christianity.

I have to agree with you on this. Although its a tad different situation, I felt the same way about Candace Cameron-Bure's decision to co-host The View. She was making a plea on social media for people to support her on the show in light of some really really harsh words from the liberal viewership. Sometimes it is a matter to stand (like Daniel and the Hebrew boys that you mentioned) and other times it is a matter of wisdom (or the lack thereof). There are some very well meaning Christians that make decisions without the wisdom given by the Holy Spirit and they suffer a backlash that appears to be persecution when it more consequence of their not so wise choice.

I pray that both Kim and Candace would learn from their situations and seek the Lord for more wisdom (as we all should).

Dear Pastor Lewis,

I have been following you for while. This is an interesting and refreshing take on this issue and I would say spot as a Man of God. I am not sure if I get it correctly but do you mean that true christian believers should not hold a governmental position or a job position where ungodly policies may be taken. I personally don't think we should all leave our job positions to those who are not saved. I am in the medical field and I have to treat everyone and policies are there (for now) to protect me if I chose not to have someone as a patient, but not everyone is grace with that and I don't know how long these laws will stand. I certainly agree with your take on this issue for the most part but if anything I think it brought up a debate and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose, though as days passes it becomes more difficult to believe this. I stand corrected.

Thank you.

In any situation, I believe one should not act emotionally, but should be rational. We should pray and seek God's guidance each time we face such dilemmas. We should also seek the guidance of the Word of God, and also the guidance of mature Christians who will not swing the pendulum too far to the left or right (Proverbs 11:14, 15:22, 24:6).
